Kathy, as many of you will remember, was the lady who coordinated the bluegrass bands with Corbin Theatre in Liberty, MO. She will be sadly missed in the community. There was a celebration of life service for Kathy March 15, 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Heritage Hall, 117 W. Kansas St., Liberty, MO.

Verna had lived with Charlie and Barb and traveled with them to many of our activities. The funeral was held Sunday, Nov 29, 2:00pm at Park Lawn Chapel in Lathrop, MO. After the funeral service, there was a pot luck dinner and jam session in the basement of the church. Everyone is invited to attend and bring a dish and your instruments for some jamming.

This is Wednesday, June 3rd. Mom is at St. Luke’s Hospital in Lee’s Summit . Her problems started out about a month ago with a sodium deficiency which caused her to be confused and anxious. We took her to the hospital at that time with anxiety, confusion, and high blood pressure. They sent her home a week later with Cdiff and some heavy drugs to take. The Cdiff led to dehydration, and her condition rapidly declined. May 29 we took her back to the hospital. She is now in very serious condition and showing very few signs of improvement. Sorry we haven’t been better at keeping you up to date. Thanks for your prayers and concern.

Gary was a guitar player in the Sugar Ridge band in the 1980s, and had recently rejoined the group. He will be sadly missed by his many friends in the bluegrass world. Please pray for comfort for his wife, Melissa, and family. Melissa’s health is not good at this time, either, and she will certainly need God’s comfort.

Unfortunately, he just wasn’t up for the battle. Visitation is from 10-11 am, Tuesday, April 14 at Missouri Funeral Care, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO, followed by a grave side service at Brooking Cemetery, Raytown. Please remember his wife, Ada Lee, in your prayers. July 26th would have been their 60th anniversary.

We thank you all for your support and prayers during this difficult time. No one is more considerate than the Bluegrass Family we know.”

The service will be held at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery on Thursday, December 18, 2008. Visitation will be at 1 PM and the Memorial Service at 2 PM. Jim already has a plot at Mt. Washington with his parents and he will be cremated.
Mt. Washington is off I-435 and 24 Hiway or Truman Road just before Winner Road. The address is 614 Brookside, Independence, MO. Their phone number is 816-252-4141. He requested bluegrass music at the service so I’m trying to get some together. (Please contact Joyce Carriker) James will be missed and it is so sad he was ill for so long.
