  2. You’re invited! The Historic Pharis Farm in Liberty, MO is hosting an evening of Bluegrass jams on the back porch. The purpose of this event is twofold: 1) Have a foot-stompin’ good time! And 2) to entice the public to visit the farm and learn about its history and mission. The Pharis Farm was donated to Clay County in the late 1990’s to continue Mr. Pharis’s legacy of agricultural education and sustainable farming practices. (Mr. Pharis was a vocational ag teacher and a founding member of the Soil & Water Conservation District here.) Now, the farm isn’t being used for much, and the Friends of the Pharis Farm advisory board (http://friendsofthepharisfarm.org/) is hoping to generate a swell of community support to be able to start something great there. The first step is to let people know it’s there – and what better way to start building awareness and community than with music?? Come jam with us on Friday, June 4th from 5pm onwards. Bring your picnic baskets!

    1. CORRECTION: The date will be EITHER June 4 OR June 11, depending on when musicians are available! Contact me for more information: reiersgaarde (at) missouri.edu
